About Us

Papermints is a boutique invitation studio that offers style-savvy customers contemporary and handmade wedding invitations and unique save the dates, and other types of personalized stationery. It was founded by Samantha Haewon Chu in 2001 after she spent a full year planning her dream wedding. Using her professional design skills and her obsession with typography and stationery, she spent countless hours creating the perfect invitation. When her labor of love debuted (in her friends' and family's mailboxes) she was inundated with rave reviews. She quickly decided to leave her design job in advertising to launch Papermints and share her talent and vision with other brides

Papermints has since expanded to offer chic invitations to brides of every style and personality (and from around the world):

-For the more classic, traditional bride, our original handmade wedding invitations are created with exquisite textured papers, ribbons and delicate handcrafted materials.

-Our signature line, the Contempo Collection, is for the modern bride. The contemporary designs are minimalist, bold and stylish, and can be customized with an endless palette of vibrant and soft hues printed on heavyweight smooth or eggshell cotton papers.

-Our newest Moda Collection combines clean lines and modern graphics for the trend-conscious urban bride. She'll love these fresh, original and budget-friendly designs, which can be created on 100% recycled paper for an eco-friendly wedding.

Every Papermints creation reflects our passion for innovative design and high-quality custom products. Each invitation order, which can be easily submitted online, is fulfilled with focused attention to detail and excellent workmanship--as if it were for one of our very own weddings!

After growing up and studying in Chicago (she got a BFA in visual communications from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago), Samantha spends her free time enjoying the warm southern California weather with her husband, her adorably menacing little dogs, Baili and Mocha, and keeping up with her high-spirited three-year-old son, Roen, and their newest addition, Cameron. She also enjoys photography, roller blading, and is a big fan of everything cupcakes.
